Although the network’s mining difficulty cranked up 4.63% just four days ago, that bump barely ruffled the miners. The machines kept churning with wild devotion, and the protocol’s horsepower blasted its way to a shiny new all-time high of 1,091 exahash per second (EH/s).
Bitcoin’s raw computing might just keeps flexing, and on Friday the network notched yet another record — blasting its hashrate up to 1,057 exahash per second (EH/s) or 1.057 zettahash per second (ZH).
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, data showed Bitcoin’s total hashrate climbed to 1,027 exahash per second (EH/s), notching another record high after bouncing back from a brief dip four days earlier.
While top-tier bitcoin miners have largely paused or slowed their fleet expansions, a group of smaller competitors accelerated growth in August, posting the strongest gains in bitcoin production.
Digital Hive has completed the second phase of development for its mining site in Yguazú, Paraguay, reporting an increase in its hashrate to 18 EH/s. Luke Rossy, Hive’s COO, emphasized that this goal was achieved in record time, with the company entering Paraguay in June 2024.
Yesterday, Bitcoin’s total hashrate ran hot, topping out at 986 exahashes per second (EH/s); since then, it has leapt into the 1 zettahash range (ZH/s). If that computational might holds, the zettahash era could become a normal fixture going forward.
