This complete beginner’s guide explains how to create and secure a PECPool account, identify your mining account, select the best Bitcoin stratum servers, configure an ASIC miner, create a worker name, verify accepted shares, monitor hashrate, and prepare your account for payouts.

PECPool combines Bitcoin mining, worker and hashrate monitoring, mining account management, alerts, earnings information, and payout tools in one integrated platform.

This guide walks you through the complete setup process—from creating your account to confirming that your miner is successfully submitting valid shares.

Before You Start

To mine Bitcoin with PECPool, you need:

  • A Bitcoin SHA-256 ASIC miner
  • A stable internet connection
  • Access to the miner’s local web interface
  • A valid email address
  • A PECPool account
  • A Bitcoin wallet address for future payouts
  • The miner’s local IP address, username, and password

Common Bitcoin ASIC miners include Bitmain Antminer and MicroBT WhatsMiner devices.

Mining software installed on a normal computer is not required when using an ASIC miner. The ASIC connects directly to the PECPool stratum server.

PECPool Monitoring is a separate optional feature. It is not required for submitting mining shares, but it provides additional miner monitoring and management capabilities.

Step 1: Create Your PECPool Account

Open the official PECPool control panel and select Create Account.

Complete the registration form using an email address that you can access. Your registered email may later be required for security confirmations, wallet changes, password recovery, and other sensitive account operations.

After registration:

  1. Check your email inbox.
  2. Open the verification email sent by PECPool.
  3. Follow the verification instructions.
  4. Return to the PECPool panel.
  5. Sign in with your username and password.

Always verify that you are using an official PECPool address before entering your credentials.

Official control panel addresses include:

Never enter your PECPool password, wallet information, or security code on an unknown website.

Step 2: Secure Your Account

Before configuring mining or payout settings, protect your account with Two-Factor Authentication.

After signing in:

  1. Open the user menu.
  2. Select My Profile.
  3. Open Security – 2FA Authentication.
  4. Request the email verification code.
  5. Enter the verification code received by email.
  6. Set your new 2FA code.
  7. Repeat the same code.
  8. Click Save.

Do not share your account password, email verification code, or 2FA code with anyone.

PECPool Support will never need your password or 2FA code to answer a normal support request.

Step 3: Find Your Mining Account Name

Open the Accounts section in the PECPool panel.

Your mining account name is the identity used by the pool to assign submitted shares, hashrate, earnings, workers, and payouts to the correct account.

The mining account name is not necessarily the same as:

  • Your email address
  • Your panel login password
  • Your Bitcoin wallet address
  • Your miner’s local username
  • Your miner’s serial number

Copy the mining account name exactly as displayed in the panel. Account names and worker names may be case-sensitive on some mining devices or firmware versions, so avoid changing uppercase or lowercase characters.

Users managing multiple mining operations may have more than one mining account. Make sure you select the correct account before copying its pool configuration.

Step 4: Select the Best PECPool Stratum Servers

A stratum server connects your ASIC miner to the mining pool.

PECPool provides regional Bitcoin stratum servers so miners can select a server with stable connectivity and lower network latency.

PECPool Bitcoin Stratum Servers

RegionServerAvailable Ports
Globalbtc.pecpool.com3333, 443, 25
United Statesbtc-us.pecpool.com3333, 443, 25
Europebtc-eu.pecpool.com3333, 443, 25
Russiabtc-ru.pecpool.com3333, 443, 25
Asiabtc-as.pecpool.com8443, 443, 25
Iranbtc-ir.pecpool.com8443, 443, 25
Iran Alternativebtc.pecpool.cc8443, 443, 25

The complete stratum format is:

stratum+tcp://server-address:port

For example:

stratum+tcp://btc-eu.pecpool.com:3333

Why Should You Configure Three Pool Addresses?

Most ASIC miners support Pool 1, Pool 2, and Pool 3.

You should configure all three fields. If the primary server becomes temporarily unreachable, the miner can automatically try the second or third server.

A recommended configuration normally includes:

  • Pool 1: The closest and most stable regional server
  • Pool 2: The Global server or another nearby region
  • Pool 3: A secondary regional server using an alternative port

The order should be selected according to your location and network conditions. Use the PECPool panel’s location selector and Pool Servers section to view the currently recommended order for your area.

Example Configuration for a Miner in Europe

  • Pool 1: stratum+tcp://btc-eu.pecpool.com:3333
  • Pool 2: stratum+tcp://btc.pecpool.com:443
  • Pool 3: stratum+tcp://btc-us.pecpool.com:25

This is only an example. A server with the lowest and most stable latency from your actual mining location is normally the better primary choice.

Step 5: Choose a Unique Worker Name

A worker name identifies an individual mining device under your mining account.

Use a separate worker name for every miner. This makes it easier to identify:

  • Offline miners
  • Low-hashrate devices
  • Unstable connections
  • Rejected shares
  • Maintenance requirements
  • Performance differences between miners

A common worker format is:

AccountName.WorkerName

Example:

myaccount.miner01

For multiple devices, you can use:

  • myaccount.miner01
  • myaccount.miner02
  • myaccount.miner03

You may also use names based on location or rack position:

  • myaccount.rack01a
  • myaccount.room2m05
  • myaccount.siteb01

Use short and recognizable worker names. Avoid spaces and unnecessary special characters.

Do not use the same worker name for multiple miners unless specifically required by your operating setup. Unique names provide more accurate worker-level monitoring.

In normal operation, the worker appears automatically in the PECPool panel after the miner connects and begins submitting valid shares. You do not usually need to create each worker manually before connecting the miner.

Step 6: Open the Miner Configuration Page

Your computer or mobile device must be connected to the same local network as the miner.

Find the miner’s IP address using one of these methods:

  • Check the router or DHCP client list
  • Use the manufacturer’s IP discovery tool
  • Use IP Reporter for supported Antminer models
  • Use WhatsMinerTool for supported WhatsMiner models
  • Review your network management system

Enter the miner’s IP address in a web browser.

Example:

http://192.168.1.100

Sign in using the miner’s local administrator username and password.

The exact menu name depends on the manufacturer and firmware. Common menu names include:

  • Miner Configuration
  • Pool Configuration
  • Mining Settings
  • Pool
  • CGMiner Configuration

Step 7: Enter the PECPool Mining Information

Enter the three selected PECPool stratum addresses in the Pool 1, Pool 2, and Pool 3 fields.

For each pool, enter the same PECPool mining account with a unique worker name.

Example

Pool 1 URL

stratum+tcp://btc-eu.pecpool.com:3333

Pool 1 Worker

myaccount.miner01

Pool 1 Password

x

Repeat the worker information for Pool 2 and Pool 3.

The pool password is not your PECPool panel password. Never enter your panel login password in the miner’s pool password field.

Use the pool password displayed or recommended by PECPool. When no specific pool password is required, a simple placeholder such as x may be used.

A complete sample configuration may look like this:

Pool 1

  • URL: stratum+tcp://btc-eu.pecpool.com:3333
  • Worker: myaccount.miner01
  • Password: x

Pool 2

  • URL: stratum+tcp://btc.pecpool.com:443
  • Worker: myaccount.miner01
  • Password: x

Pool 3

  • URL: stratum+tcp://btc-us.pecpool.com:25
  • Worker: myaccount.miner01
  • Password: x

Check all values carefully before saving. The most common configuration errors are:

  • Incorrect account name
  • Missing worker name
  • Using a space instead of a dot
  • Incorrect stratum address
  • Incorrect port
  • Entering a Bitcoin wallet address in the worker field
  • Entering the PECPool login password as the pool password
  • Copying an extra space before or after a value

Step 8: Save the Configuration

Click the miner’s Save, Apply, or Save & Apply button.

Some miners automatically restart the mining process after saving. Other models may require a manual restart.

Wait a few minutes and open the miner’s status page.

Depending on the miner, this page may be called:

  • Miner Status
  • Dashboard
  • Overview
  • Pool Status
  • CGMiner Status

Confirm that:

  • The miner is hashing
  • At least one PECPool server is shown as Alive or Connected
  • The worker name is correct
  • Accepted shares are increasing
  • Hardware errors are not unusually high
  • The miner is not repeatedly restarting
  • Temperature and fan values are within the device’s normal operating range

The second and third pool servers may appear as backup or inactive while Pool 1 is connected. This is normal.

Step 9: Verify the Worker in PECPool

After the miner begins submitting valid shares, return to the PECPool panel.

Open Monitor and review the worker information for the selected mining account.

A newly connected or restarted worker may require approximately 10 to 20 minutes to appear or change to Online status.

Check the following information:

  • Worker name
  • Online or offline status
  • Current hashrate
  • One-hour hashrate
  • Twenty-four-hour hashrate
  • Accepted shares
  • Rejected or stale shares
  • Last share time
  • Hashrate chart

Do not compare the miner’s local hashrate and pool hashrate immediately after startup.

The miner usually displays a short-term hardware estimate, while the pool calculates hashrate from valid shares actually received over time. Temporary differences are normal, especially during the first few minutes after connecting or restarting a miner.

Allow enough time for the pool average to stabilize before evaluating performance.

Step 10: Configure Your Bitcoin Wallet

Mining can begin after the worker is connected, but a confirmed Bitcoin wallet address is required before payouts can be sent.

To register or change a wallet:

  1. Open Accounts.
  2. Locate the required mining account.
  3. Select Edit Account.
  4. Enter your Bitcoin wallet address.
  5. Select the withdrawal threshold.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Check your registered email.
  8. Open the Wallet Change Request email.
  9. Confirm the change using the email link.

Always verify:

  • The complete wallet address
  • The selected Bitcoin network
  • The first and last characters of the address
  • That you control the destination wallet
  • That the address has not been changed by clipboard malware

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible after they are broadcast and confirmed by the network.

PECPool uses the PPS+ payment method. Rewards are calculated using valid shares submitted by your miners, along with Bitcoin network conditions, block rewards, transaction fees, and the published pool fee.

The standard PECPool mining fee is 2.5%.

Mining income is variable. It may change because of:

  • Effective hashrate
  • Miner uptime
  • Bitcoin network difficulty
  • Accepted and rejected shares
  • Network latency
  • Miner temperature and hardware condition
  • Bitcoin block rewards and transaction fees
  • Pool fees
  • Changes in Bitcoin mining conditions

No mining pool can guarantee a fixed daily profit.

Step 11: Enable Alerts

After your worker is online, enable alerts so you can respond more quickly to mining interruptions.

PECPool can provide notifications for supported events such as:

  • Worker going offline
  • Miner problems
  • Hashrate drops
  • Account notifications
  • Important platform events

To receive Telegram alerts, open the official PECPool Telegram bot:

@pecpoolbot

Follow the instructions in the PECPool panel to connect your Telegram account and enable the required notification options.

Always verify that you are using the official bot before following instructions or opening links.

Step 12: Consider Installing PECPool Monitoring

Connecting an ASIC miner to the PECPool mining pool and installing PECPool Monitoring are two different processes.

Your miner can submit shares and generate mining rewards without the separate Monitoring service.

Installing PECPool Monitoring provides additional operational capabilities, including supported miner information, centralized monitoring, alerts, and remote management tools.

It is especially useful for:

  • Mining farms
  • Users with multiple ASIC miners
  • Technical support teams
  • Users who need centralized device visibility
  • Remote miner management
  • Operational and maintenance monitoring

Install the Monitoring service only from the official PECPool panel and protect your API Key and Secret.

Common Problems and Solutions

Worker Is Not Appearing in the Panel

Check that:

  • The worker uses the correct mining account
  • The worker format is correct
  • The PECPool stratum URL is correct
  • The selected port is reachable
  • The miner has internet access
  • The miner is actively hashing
  • Accepted shares are increasing
  • You waited at least 10 to 20 minutes after connection

Also review the miner logs for DNS, authentication, socket, or connection errors.

Pool Status Shows Dead

Try the following:

  1. Check the miner’s internet connection.
  2. Confirm the server address and port.
  3. Try an alternative PECPool port.
  4. Test another regional server.
  5. Check DNS resolution.
  6. Restart the miner and network equipment.
  7. Review firewall or router restrictions.

Ports 443 or 25 may work on networks where a standard mining port is restricted. Always use only the official PECPool server addresses.

Authorization Failed

Authorization errors are commonly caused by:

  • Incorrect account name
  • Incorrect worker format
  • Typing the wallet address instead of the account name
  • An unsupported character in the worker name
  • Extra spaces
  • Incorrect password configuration

Copy the account name directly from the PECPool panel and enter a simple, unique worker name.

Hashrate Is Lower in the Pool

A temporary difference between local miner hashrate and pool hashrate is normal.

Pool hashrate is calculated from received shares and requires time to stabilize. Persistent low hashrate may be caused by:

  • Rejected or stale shares
  • Network latency
  • Packet loss
  • Frequent disconnections
  • Miner restarts
  • High temperature
  • Hardware faults
  • Unstable overclocking
  • Incorrect frequency or voltage
  • Firmware problems

Evaluate the worker over a longer period instead of relying only on a few minutes of data.

Rejected Share Rate Is High

Check:

  • Network latency
  • Packet loss
  • Internet stability
  • Selected server region
  • Miner firmware
  • Overclocking settings
  • Temperature
  • Frequent miner restarts

Use the nearest stable PECPool server and avoid aggressive performance settings that reduce hardware or network stability.

Final Setup Checklist

Before considering the setup complete, confirm that:

  • Your PECPool email address is verified
  • Two-Factor Authentication is enabled
  • The correct mining account is selected
  • Three official PECPool stratum servers are configured
  • Every miner has a unique worker name
  • The PECPool login password is not used as the pool password
  • The miner shows an Alive or Connected pool
  • Accepted shares are increasing
  • The worker appears Online in PECPool
  • Hashrate begins appearing in the panel
  • Your Bitcoin wallet address is correct and confirmed
  • Alerts are enabled
  • Your credentials and security codes are stored securely

Start Monitoring Your Mining Operation

After the worker is online, PECPool will begin displaying mining information as valid shares are received.

Use the dashboard regularly to review:

  • Worker status
  • Current and average hashrate
  • Mining charts
  • Accepted and rejected shares
  • Earnings
  • Account balance
  • Payout history
  • Alerts
  • Miner performance

For the most reliable operation, keep all three pool addresses configured, use a stable regional server, assign a unique name to every worker, and review alerts before a small issue becomes extended mining downtime.

You have now completed the basic process required to start Bitcoin mining with PECPool.
